Then and Now

There is a village protected by a dead saint and by Alp Eren Saint. One legend says there once was a very brave fighter and his name was "Ömer Dede". He had no head, but he went on fighting. He was sanctified and he protected the village.

Until the 1940's, twelve village people were invited to celebrations of these events and, on these occasions, they played gereed.

Nowadays, villagers celebrate this event on their own. If they want rain, they go to that place mentioned in the legend and pray for it.

This story helps us find out more about the village and its people, who are helped to discover their traditions and culture.
